Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Chelsea Smolinski (formerly Dr. Ashlaw) received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo in 2011 and her doctorate of optometry at the SUNY College of Optometry in 2015. She is a certified optometric glaucoma specialist and therapeutic optometrist. Her experience includes comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, pediatric examinations, and ocular disease evaluations including glaucoma, diabetes, dry eye, and macular degeneration. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Smolinski is originally from Syracuse, New York and moved to Houston in November 2018.  She found her way to Heritage Park Vision and joined the team in early 2019.

Dr. Smolinski and her husband Dave welcomed their first baby girl in April 2023.

She is presently licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.


Dr. Chumley is a third generation eye care professional.  While growing up she spent countless afternoons in both her father and grandfathers optical practices, and discovered her passion for optometry.  She is honored to have her father Bill as a business mentor at Heritage Park Vision.  It has always been her dream to open 

Dr. Paige Chumley grew up in Katy, Texas and graduated from Katy High School.  She attended Texas State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Biochemistry.  She received her doctorate in optometry from the University Of Houston College of Optometry, where she also graduated Summa Cum Laude.  During optometry school Dr. Chumley received several awards including Excellence in neuro-ophthalmology, and

Dr. Sara Brown is a native of southern Indiana. She graduated with highest distinction from Indiana University with a Bachelors of Arts in Chemistry, a minor in Spanish and Psychology, and thereafter, a Doctorate of Optometry. She was valedictorian of her graduating optometry class, and spent part of her clinical rotations at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.  After graduating from optometry school, she completed a residency at the University of Houston College of Optometry with a specialty in Cornea and Contact Lenses. 

Following her residency, she spent several years as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UH College of Optometry. She also spent time working for ophthalmology practices that specialize in cataract and refractive surgery. 

Dr. Brown is a Fellow of The American Academy of Optometry, which means she is recognized by her colleagues as a knowledgeable and experienced professional who has met high standards of professional competence in a broad range of issues related to eye care. 

At Heritage Park Vision Dr. Brown performs comprehensive eye examinations and evaluations for cataracts, dry eye, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, keratoconus, glaucoma and many other ocular conditions. She also treats minor eye injuries and infections and fits both simple and specialty contact lenses. 

Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with her husband, three kids, and their dog, Rocket.
