Dr. Paige A. Chumley grew up in Katy, Texas and graduated from Katy High School. She attended Texas State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Biochemistry. She received her doctorate in optometry from the University Of Houston College of Optometry, where she also graduated Summa Cum Laude. During optometry school Dr. Chumley received several awards including Excellence in neuro-ophthalmology, and academic excellence recognition. Through her extern work she gained experience in diagnosing and managing pathological and visual conditions, fitting specialty contact lenses, as well as determining candidacy for LASIK and cataract procedures.
She is presently licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Chumley is a third generation eye care professional. While growing up she spent countless afternoons in both her father and grandfathers optical practices, and discovered her passion for optometry. She is honored to have her father Bill serving as master optician at Heritage Park Vision. It has always been her dream to open her own comprehensive eye care clinic and she is thrilled to be doing it in her home town with the great Katy community!
In her spare time Dr. Chumley enjoys relaxing with her NEW baby girl and husband, jogging, and Katy High School football.
Dr. Lara Nguyen Joined Heritage Park Vision in February 2014 to fill in for Dr. Chumley while she was on maternity leave. However, we quickly found she was a wonderful addition to the practice and we are so lucky to have her at our office part time now. She is a certified optometric glaucoma specialist and therapeutic optometrist. She attended the University of Houston receiving a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She then earned a Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO), where she graduated with magna cum laude honors. She completed an externship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and then another at Plaza Vision Center, one of the most successful offices in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Nguyen is a member and past president of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric International Honor Society. Her clinical rotations specialized in custom contact lens fitting, keratoconus, ocular disease, and surgical comanagement of cataracts and LASIK.
In her free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling, jogging, playing the piano, and spending time with her family and friends.
